What are the first races for you

The first race on the south road this year was Bedhamptom, 145 miles, and prior to that they had only exercised around the loft for a few weeks. When do you couple your race birds

I pair them about a month after my stock birds, which is around the beginning of January, but in recent years if it has been very cold I will wait until after Blackpool. What do you look for when bringing in new stock

Results of the previous owner, and they have to conform with my selection process which is based on handling, throat and contrary to what most believe, the eye. I give each quality a score out of ten and want as near to thirty as I can get and there are not many pigeons that can achieve that.
